MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma – The Midwest City Bombers overcame an early deficit and finished the game scoring 41 unanswered points on the way to a 48-21 victory over the Yukon Millers Friday.
Yukon (3-1, 0-1) held a 21-7 lead in the first half was driving toward another touchdown, but a costly fumble shifted the momentum. The Bombers (4-0, 1-0) scored on the ensuing drive and went into halftime down 21-14.
It was all Midwest City from there. The Bombers tied the game early in the third quarter, and then took their first lead on the last play of the frame.
Midwest City pulled away after that, scoring 20 points in the final quarter to make the final deficit worse than the game actually was.
The Bombers remained undefeated and have scored 30 or more points in all four of their games. They will try to keep their streak going next week against Putnam City North (2-2, 0-1), while Yukon will face Norman North (1-3, 0-1).
