DALLAS -- According to Ranier Sabin of the Dallas Morning News former Jones quarterback Daxx Garman has filed an appeal with the University Interscholastic League Monday to regain his eligibility.
The Arizona commit was named the starting quarterback for Texas powerhouse Southlake Carroll, but was ruled ineligible by the UIL Friday.
Garman was the starting quarterback for Jones last season and stared eight games for the Longhorns, but was ruled ineligible and the team was forced to forfeit six wins, costing them a district title.
A report by WFAA in Dallas emerged earlier in the week questioning his eligibility, leading to the UIL’s decision.
The UIL’s executive board – Texas’ equivalent of the OSSAA – will hold a meeting in regard to Garman’s petition at 1:30 p.m. Sept 14.
