TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Comets will be banking on a loaded offense this year, after suffering a loss of 11 players due to graduation. Bishop Kelley’s 11-1 run last year ended at the hands of the Carl Albert Titans.
Now, the team’s looking forward to vindicating the 34-31 loss of last year and progress past the second round of the playoffs. The Comets strength may lie in their quarterback position, which is up for grabs. A slew of sophomores and junior were battling for the spot, but ultimately it will be head coach J.J. Tappana’s decision.
Either way, whoever is launching the football, they’ll likely be aiming for tailback Alex Maguire, who racked up more than 700 yards last year as a sophomore.
The defense will be led by linebacker Cameron O’Brien.
