SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- Berryhill defeated Metro Christian 13-9 in the quarterfinals of the Class 4A Baseball Tournament.

The scoring began quickly and never let up. Metro Christian started with a big opening frame, driving in five runs in the top of the first to jump out to a big early lead. Not to be outdone, Berryhill responded with four runs of its own in the bottom of the inning to cut it back to a one-run game.

Metro would add a run in the second to take a 6-4 advantage, but that marked the last time Metro Christian held the lead. Berryhill's Jake Anderson hit a three-run bomb in the bottom of the third to give the Chiefs a 7-6 lead, and they never looked back.

Berryhill opened up the floodgates in the fourth, scoring six runs. Dusty Harper started things off by hitting a two-run home run to give the Chiefs a 9-6 lead. Zach Postoak would add an RBI triple, Anderson added a sacrifice fly and Adam Dolan added a two RBI single in the fourth.

Metro Christian made the score more respectable with runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, but never really challenged for the win.

Berryhill now advances to the Class 4A semifinals back at Shawnee High School at 7:30 on Friday and will face the Lone Grove/Fort Gibson winner.
