NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Fort Towson Tigers staged a second-half comeback to earn a 49-44 win over Porter Thursday and advance to the Class A semifinals.
Porter started the game strong and held a 15-6 lead after the first quarter. The Tigers cut into that lead but still trailed by six going into halftime.
Ft. Towson slowly erased the lead until Phillip Clark scored in the lane to give the Tigers a 35-33 lead early in the fourth quarter. They did not trail again for the rest of the night, and sank four free throws at the end of the game to clinch the win.
Clark led all players with 24 points, and teammate Zach Samaha scored 12. Andrian Mosley led Porter with 12 points, and Jacob Richardson added 11.
The Pirates finished the season with a 24-5 record and the loss ends their first state tournament appearance since 1993.
