BIXBY, Oklahoma – Okarche punched its ticket to the Class A state tournament on Friday night with a 51-49 overtime victory over Porter.
Jabe Karr led the Warriors with a game-high 34 points, including 18 in the first half.
The Pirates took a 10-8 lead at the end of the first quarter with two Jacob Richardson baskets, but the second quarter belonged to Okarche. The Warriors outscored Porter 17-6 in the second period and went into the break leading by nine points.
The Pirates surged in the second half and forced overtime, but eventually fell in the extra period.
Porter still has an opportunity to make it to the state tournament when the Pirates take on Depew Saturday night at 8 p.m. in the runner-up contest.
