EDMOND, Oklahoma – Lawton used a quick start and clutch free-throw shooting to earn a trip to the regional finals by defeating Del City 49-38 Friday.
The teams stayed close for much of the first half, and Lawton went into the locker room with a 30-20 lead. Del City cut that lead to 40-36 with less than four minutes left, but the Wolverines sank their free throws to extend the lead and seal the win.
Lawton will now face top-seeded Edmond Santa Fe in the regional finals at 7 p.m. Saturday on Santa Fe’s home court.
