TULSA, Oklahoma – The Edison Lady Eagles didn’t waste any time against the Pryor Lady Tigers Thursday night. Edison jumped out to a 27-0 lead in front of the home crowd en route to an easy 67-49 win.
Pryor went scoreless in the first quarter after failing to hit open jump shots or layups. The Lady Tigers missed all of their free throw attempts as well. After each miss the home crowd roared in approval as the Lady Eagles’ lead continued to grow.
Edison scored early in transition thanks to great passing from senior guard Danielle Devers. Devers and Danara Day slipped passes down low to senior post presence Antionette Carter for easy layups against the much shorter Pryor frontcourt.
Pryor called a timeout to gather themselves after trailing 13-0. Players sat visibly frustrated on the bench. Their 31-point output was the lowest since scoring just 20 against Claremore on February 11th.
The Lady Eagles advance to face the Claremore Lady Zebras in Saturday’s winner’s bracket. The Lady Tigers will face the Lady Ropers after they lost to Claremore 43-31.
