MCLOUD, Oklahoma – After both teams suffered through a dismal first half, Bethel used a strong finish to put away McLoud 50-27.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime with Bethel up 16-8, but the Wildcats broke away in the second half. They went into the fourth quarter up 34-20 before extending the lead again in the fourth.
The win assures that Bethel will continue its hold on the No. 1 spot in Class 3A, while McLoud’s 27-point performance marks its worst point production of the season.
Josh Benard led Bethel with 13 points, and teammate Robert Neville added 10. No McLoud players scored in double digits, with Robbie Gray leading the way with eight points.
