TULSA, Oklahoma -- Jamie Richardson’s two free throws with 4.6 seconds left propelled East Central past Booker T. Washington 42-40.

Richardson’s free throw attempts almost never occurred. With the scored tied at 40 and time ticking down, Booker T. Washington’s Juwan Parker knocked the ball away from Patrick Wolfe. Parker and Wolfe fought for the ball, and Wolfe eventually ended up with the ball as he was falling out of bounds. At first, the referees ruled that Wolfe had stepped out of bounds. The call was reversed, though, when it was determined that Parker stepped out of bounds first.

Dante Barnett fouled Richardson the next time down the court and Richardson gave the Cardinals the lead by hitting both attempts at the charity stripe.

The Hornets had a chance to win it, but Parker’s desperation attempt at the buzzer hit the top of the backboard.

Richardson, Andrew Wilson, and Damion Hooks led the Cardinals with 8 points each. Dante Barnett led the Hornets with a game-high 15.
