TULSA, Oklahoma -- The driver of a Ford Explorer managed to do considerable damage to public property and other two vehicles before abandoning the SUV outside the BOK Center.
Tulsa Police say that at about 12:20 a.m. Saturday, the Explorer was heading west on 3rd Street when it ran a red light at the Cheyenne intersection. The SUV hit one car, pushing it into another southbound vehicle.
The Explorer then jumped the southwest curb of the intersection and went down the sidewalk. As it veered back onto the road, it took out several light poles and an electronic parking meter.
The SUV continued down 3rd Street before finally stopping in front of the BOK Center – with the parking meter pinned underneath.
The driver and any other occupants that may have been present ran from the scene. Tulsa Police found an ID in the SUV which they hope will lead them to the suspect.
No one in the two damaged vehicles was seriously hurt or taken to the hospital.
