TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Zoo has transformed the rhino's grassy plains into bowling lanes as the rhinos try to "spare" themselves from extinction.

White rhinos Jeannie and Buzby went bowling Thursday to kick off a big fundraiser -- Bowling for Rhinos. It's an annual event that raises money for rhino conservation. The proceeds – 100 percent – go directly to help rhinos and their diverse ecosystems in Africa and Indonesia.

Today only five rhino species exist where once there were over 100. Bowling for Rhinos is a fun way to bring attention to a serious issue.

Jeannie and Buzby need your help. Attend Bowling for Rhinos on July 24 at Sheridan Lanes, 3121 South Sheridan Road. Registration starts at 5 p.m. with bowling at 6 p.m.

Register online or just make a donation.
