Grand Lake Drowning Victim Identified

Grand Lake, Oklahoma -- A man who drowned in Grand Lake over the weekend has been identified.

The Grand River Dam Authority Police say Tommy L. Kaneer--age, address unknown--drowned in the Blue Bluff area of the lake late Saturday.

Witnesses told police that Kaneer appeared confused while floating on a piece of Styrofoam moments before he drowned.

Witnesses report Kaneer rolled off the foam, went under the water and did not resurface.

GRDA officers were notified and were on the scene within 10 minutes, according to a release. Crews recovered Kaneer's body early Sunday morning after an overnight search.
