Historic Miami Home Added to National Register Of Historic Places

A home in Miami has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

MIAMI, Oklahoma -- A home in Miami has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

According to a news release from the state's Historic Preservation Office, the Dobson Family House has been added for its significance in the areas of industry, politics/government, and social history for its association with the Dobson Family.

Wayman Willis Dobson served as Mayor of Miami two times in Oklahoma history and the house is only building still standing in Miami that is directly associated with the Dobson family.

The Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office made the announcement this week.
