Only one of the three teams tryng to beat the same opponent for the third time this season has been successful so far. UAB lost to ECU in a shocker!.... and Memphis beat Southern Miss for the third time.

Tulsa takes a crack at Rice later, looking for win #3 over the Owls this year.

After todays first two quarterfinal games, were left with this:

Tomorrow will feature ECU vs Memphis for the right to go to the finals. Can you believe it? If this is foreshadowing to how Im going to do in my NCAA tournament picks, its gonna be a rough bracket for me. I didnt have either one of those teams pegged as contenders. Now, one will make it to the title game. I thought ...FOR SURE...that Southern Miss would come out of that side of things.

Im looking forward to tonights games. Marshall and UTEP is first. In person, Marshall is HUGE collectively. They have a massive backcourt. Can they beat the Miners on their home floor? UTEP is the only team to beat Marshall in the past nine games.

Tulsa and Rice should be one sided. TU has won 9 in a row vs. the Owls. As long as they dont get into foul trouble, they should make it 10 for 10 tonight and advance to face the UTEP-Marshall winner. If Arsalan Kazemi gets hot for Rice, that could cause some problems, but I expect TU to win...call it.... 75-66.

I think UTEP also wins tonight. That will set up a pretty fierce battle in the semifinals Friday at 2 p.m.

Lets go!
