OKLAHOMA CITY -- With the tragic passing of Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box, residents across Oklahoma expressed their heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those who knew and loved the young man from Enid, Okla.

Enid’s own Chad McKee opened up the Sunday night Blitz expressing his feelings in a tribute to the man known simply as “Big Boy.”

Coming out of Enid High School, Box was the top-ranked player from the state of Oklahoma and the No. 3 outside linebacker in the country. After redshirting the 2007 season, Box made an immediate impact in 2008, starting in five games for the Sooners and fans have loved him ever since.

As well known as he was for his play on the field, fans appreciated him for the person he was off the field as well. Down-to-earth, personable and just an all-around good guy, these are the things that fans will probably miss the most.
