Mike Strong Named Conference Pitcher of the Week

IRVING, Texas -- It was announced Monday that Oklahoma State pitcher Mike Strong was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for May 9-15.

The senior left-handed pitcher set a career-high mark for strikeouts with 14 in the Cowboys’ series-opening 1-0 win over the Baylor Bears Friday, while pitching eight shutout innings. He gave up just two hits and did not give up a walk in the eight-inning outing.

Strong’s award makes him the sixth Oklahoma State player to claim a conference weekly award and the second to claim Pitcher of the Week.
