LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas—It’s hard to believe that a single in the bottom of the first to score a runner from second would decide the winner of the game, but for the Arkansas Travelers, that was all it needed to top the Tulsa Drillers 1-0 Sunday afternoon.

In the bottom of the first, Clay Fuller and Luis Jimenez both singled to get on base for Arkansas. With two outs Alberto Rosario knocked a ball up the middle for a single that scored Fuller for the first and only run in the game.

The two other notable points from the game: the Drillers offensive struggle, and Arkansas’ impressive pitching, by a right-hander with Oklahoma ties.

Tulsa managed only two hits in the contest, which ties a season low the team set in late April also against Arkansas. Except in the April matchup, Tulsa took the 1-0 victory.

Some of the highlights from the game, impressive pitching.

Although he was on the mound for Arkansas, we must give credit where it is due and Oklahoma University alumnus Garrett Richards threw a good game for the Travelers.

Richards took a no-hitter into the fifth frame and rounded out the eighth inning performance allowing only two hits with nine strike outs and one walk.

Despite tacking on a loss, Driller pitcher Cory Riordan threw six innings Sunday and allowed only one run on seven hits with six strikeouts, just one short of his season high.

Arkansas takes the five game series 3-2 and Tulsa now sits at 20-15 on the season.

The Drillers will return back to action at ONEOK Field Monday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
