Salt Lake City Drops Oklahoma City in Opener
The RedHawks' offense never really got going Saturday against the Bees' pitching staff.

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Sal Lake City Bees came away with a series-opening win against the Oklahoma City RedHakws in a 2-1 game Saturday.
Salt Lake City’s (18-19) Ryan Ketchner (2-1) kept the Oklahoma City (16-20) bats in check, giving up just one earned run on six hits in his 6.2 innings of service. Jordan Lyles (1-3), came away with a loss for his seven innings of service, giving up seven hits and two earned runs in the loss.
In the second at-bat of the game, Andrew Romine sent a line-drive single to center field and stole second in the next at-bat. Paul McAnulty singled in the same at-bat to bring Romine home and take a one-run lead.
The Bees went back to work in the top of the seventh, started by a leadoff triple to right field from Jeremy Moore. Gil Vazquez knocked soft line drive to right field in the next at-bat to take a 2-0 advantage.
Oklahoma City’s lone run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh. Drew Locke lead off with a line-dive single to left field and three at-bats later Koby Clemens hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring him home.
The second game of the series will start at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
