Drillers Use Three Strong Innings to Down Arkansas
The Tulsa Drillers had three innings with two or more runs scored to blast past the Travelers 8-4.

TULSA, Okla.—For the second game in a row the Tulsa Drillers doubled the score of the visiting Arkansas Travelers to pick up its second win in as many days.
The Drillers used three innings with two or more runs scored to beat the Travelers 8-4 Wednesday morning in Tulsa.
Despite an early first inning home run to left field by Arkansas’ Darwin Perez the Drillers responded and got the bats going in the second to regain the lead.
Centerfielder Tim Wheeler got the ball rolling for Tulsa with a leadoff double to left field. After a wild pitch, Wheeler advanced to third. Then Ben Paulsen also doubled to score Wheeler.
Darin Holcomb singled on a ground ball to center to score two runs for Tulsa to go up 3-1.
Neither team would score again until the sixth inning when Arkansas added another run when Mike Trout singled on a line drive to left to score Angel Castillo.
The Travelers would add another run in the seventh with a single by Matt Cusick to bring home Dillon Baird and make it 2-3.
But the Drillers would use the seventh and eighth innings to put the game away.
Scott Beerer singled to get on base then Mike Daniel doubled to advance Beerer to third. Lars Davis then sent a groundball to right for a single to score Beerer and advance Daniel to third.
Daniel would eventually score along with Davis to round out the inning and take the 6-3 advantage.
Tulsa closed out the game with two more runs in the eighth thanks to a two run homer by Scott Beerer.
Stephen Dodson picked up the win for Tulsa and is now 5-0 on the season with a 2.25 ERA.
The Drillers are now 15-9 on the season and 2-0 in this series with Arkansas.
Tulsa returns to the diamond for the third of four games against the Travelers Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
