LAWRENCE, Kan. – Keilani Ricketts was extended an invitation to try out for the US Women’s National Team, and she showed why she was deserving of it against Kansas.

The Sooners topped the Jayhawks 12-6 and 13-5 in a doubleheader in Lawrence on Wednesday.

Ricketts (18-6) got the win in the first game and also pitched in relief in game two. She threw 5.1 innings in the first game, giving up just one hit and striking out 10.

Brittany Williams led OU offensively in the opening game, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Ricketts once again performed on both sides of the ball, blasting a three-run homer in the third to put the Sooners up 6-0.

Allie Clark picked up the loss in the first game, falling to 11-6.

In the second game, OU went off for an astounding 20 hits in the game, its most since recording 23 against Arkansas in 2009.

Dani Dobbs went a perfect 5-for-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Ricketts continued her massive day, sending her second career grand slam over the wall in a 2-for-3 day.

Michelle Gascoigne improved to 8-3 on the year in the circle for Oklahoma, pitching five innings and giving up six hits and five runs.

The Sooners will return home this weekend to host No. 17 Baylor. Saturday’s first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
