NORMAN, Okla.—University of Oklahoma women’s assistant coach Stacy Hansmeyer is leaving the program to focus on other career opportunities.
Hansmeyer has been an assistant for 10 seasons and head coach Sherri Coale announced Hansmeyer’s decision Tuesday.
During her time with the Sooners, Hansmeyer helped coach Oklahoma to three final four appearances.
Coach Coale says Hansmeyer was instrumental in recruiting twins Courtney and Ashley Paris to Oklahoma. Courtney Paris was a four-time first-team All-America selection and both sisters were drafted by WNBA teams in 2009.
Hansmeyer played for Coale at Norman High School before she graduated and spent her college career playing at Connecticut.
After she graduated college, Hansmeyer spent one year as a graduate assistant at UCONN before she joined the Oklahoma staff.
