OSU Softball Records 14 Consecutive Scoreless Innings
The Cowgirls beat Minnesota and Northern Iowa by a combined score of 16-0.

STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 20 Oklahoma State softball team recorded back-to-back shutouts Friday in the first two games of its host tournament.
Four Cowgirl pitchers combined to throw 14 scoreless innings, and they only gave up a total of seven hits. OSU (18-5) defeated Minnesota 9-0 before moving on to defeat Northern Iowa 7-0.
Alysia Hamilton was the star of the day at the plate, going 4-of-6 with five RBIs and three runs throughout the day. She began the scoring in the first inning against Minnesota with an RBI single. Chelsea Garcia followed with a three-run home run to give OSU a quick 4-0 lead.
The Cowgirls scored two runs in the third and capped things off with three more in the seventh to finish the scoring in the first game. Kat Espinosa gave up only one hit in five innings of work to earn her 10th win of the season.
Oklahoma State started fast again in the second game thanks to Tamara Brown’s two-run single in the first inning. Of the remaining five runs that scored, Hamilton drove in four of them.
Hamilton led off the bottom of the third inning with a homer and delivered a two-run single in the next inning. She added one more with a sacrifice fly in sixth, and Julie finished the scoring with an RBI single in the next at-bat.
Simone Freeman finished with the win against Northern Iowa after giving up just two hits and striking out nine batters in six scoreless innings.
The Cowgirls will face Northern Colorado in their next game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. They will play another game later in the day, with the time depending on the outcome of their first contest. If they win, they will play at 7:00 p.m.; if they lose, they will play at 4:30 p.m.
