KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Baylor Bears will be without starting forward Perry Jones Wednesday night as they head into the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
The Bears' forward was suspended by the NCAA for a pre-enrollment violation. Baylor was informed Wednesday, only hours before the Bears were set to play Oklahoma, that Jones is ineligible.
The NCAA has been investigating whether Jones or his family received preferential treatment or benefits from an AAU coach before he arrived at Baylor.
Baylor immediately appealed to have Jones' eligibility reinstated.
