OSU's Weidenaar Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

STILLWATER, Okla. – OSU junior center fielder Gabe Weidenaar was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for games played Feb. 28 – March 6, the league announced Monday.
Weidenaar was named the most outstanding player of the Dairy Queen Classic in Tucson, Ariz. where the Cowboys won the tournament title this past weekend.
He went 4-for-6 in the Sunday game against Minnesota that clinched the championship for Oklahoma State, and recorded at least two hits in each game of the weekend.
Weidenaar finished the tournament with nine hits and hit .529 in the tournament to go with four RBIs and four runs.
He came to OSU from the College of Southern Nevada, and currently ranks second on Oklahoma State’s roster with a batting percentage of .447.
