TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane notched its fourth consecutive win 8-0 Sunday over the Ohio State Buckeyes thanks to the right arm of pitcher Aimee Creger.
The freshman from Yukon pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout for the Golden Hurricane, striking out eight Buckeye batters in the win. Ohio State’s Aubrey Plant (1-2) received the loss for her outing, after giving up five hit and five earned runs in just two innings of service.
Tulsa’s biggest offensive output came in the bottom of the third. Leading 2-0 with two on base, senior Lauren Menke homered to left field to take a 5-0 advantage and put the game nearly out of reach.
The Golden Hurricane will be back in action Wednesday on the road against in-state rival Oklahoma at 5 p.m.
