ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane held the Centenary Ladies scoreless in both games of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Tulsa shutout Centenary 11-0 in their first game Saturday. The Golden Hurricane was led by pitcher Jordan Kinard, who pitched five innings, giving up only one hit while striking out nine batters. While Kinard helped hold the Ladies scoreless, the TU batters warmed their bats up, notching one run in the first inning when Jill Barrett hit a triple only to be hit home two batters later on a single by Aimee Creger.
The Golden Hurricane continued to stretch their lead, putting up four runs in the second inning and one in the fourth, bringing the score to 6-0. TU got one more run in the top of the fourth and sealed Centenary’s fate in the top of the fifth, posting five additional runs, run-ruling the Ladies.
Tulsa’s second matchup was much of the same -- Tulsa racking up the runs, Centenary struggling both at bat and in the circle. TU put up three runs in the second inning, following it up with one in the third. The Golden Hurricane pulled out of the Ladies’ reach by tacking on three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth for the 8-0 win.
Tulsa will play Creighton Sunday at noon.
