NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops announced Friday that cornerback Jamell Fleming is not enrolled at OU for the spring semester.
Stoops said Fleming’s decision was caused by a personal matter, but did not go into further detail. Fleming also will not take part in the team’s spring drills.
“We’re hopeful that Jamell can work through the things he’s facing and resume his college career,” Stoops said.
Fleming improved throughout his junior year last season and became one of the most consistent performers on the defense. He led the Sooners with five interceptions and 14 passes defended and also was fifth on the team with 71 tackles.
The timetable for Fleming's return - or even if he will return - is currently unknown. Oklahoma Sports will bring you more information as it becomes available.
