TULSA, Oklahoma – University of Tulsa head football coach Todd Graham confirmed Monday that offensive coordinator Chad Morris has resigned his position at TU to take the same position at Clemson.

Morris spent 16 years as a prep coach in Texas before TU gave him his first college job in January 2010. In his only season with the Golden Hurricane, Morris’ offense finished No. 5 in the nation.

“We’re very grateful to Chad and his family for the hard work and dedication they had in this memorable season,” Graham said. “Chad was an integral part of our success and we wish he and his family the very best. It’s tough to lose good people, but it’s a reflection of the success of our program and our team.”

Morris had been rumored as the leading candidate for the Clemson position since it opened with the firing of Billy Napier last Sunday. Morris interviewed the following day.

Morris may not be the only TU coach on his way out the door. Graham has commonly been linked to the vacant Pittsburgh head coaching position, with College Football Talk reporting Sunday that the two sides are discussing contract terms.

The report said Graham is asking for a yearly salary of $2 million to take the the job at Pitt, a raise of $700,000 per year from what he currently makes with the Hurricane.

Oklahoma Sports will bring you more on that story as it develops.
