OKLAHOMA CITY – Students at Del Crest Middle School in Oklahoma City will have a chance to get up close and personal with one of the NBA’s biggest superstars on Friday.
Kevin Durant and teammate Morris Peterson will host a Thunder Fit clinic for about 60 students at the middle school Friday afternoon.
The visit is part of the NBA’s 2011 NBA FIT Live Healthy Week and Durant is a member of the NBA Fit team.
The NBA FIT Live Healthy Week encourages teams to join community members and partners to stress the importance of healthy living and choices. NBA players also wear special on-court attire during the games this week, including special Adidas NBA FIT shooting shirts, headbands and wristbands.
Thunder players have hosted the clinics on other occasions this season as well. The clinics lead students through a series of stations including exercise demonstrations, strength training, nutrition lessons and basketball drills.
The players will also have a question and answer session at the end with the students. The clinic, however, is not open to the public.
