ORU’s Morrison Named Player of the Week

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oral Roberts' Dominique Morrison was named Summit League Player of the Week for his record-setting performance during last week’s play.
Morrison set career-highs for points, field goals and 3-pointers in ORU’s 71-58 win over Western Illinois.
The 6-6 forward from Kansas City, Mo. also helped the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 start in league play with another victory over IUPUI, 71-58.
Against WIU, Morrison scored 35 points, made 14-of-18 shots (78 percent) and went 6-of-7 (86 percent) from beyond the arc. Two nights later at IUPUI, he scored 11 second-half points to help rally his team to a sweep of its league road trip. Earlier in the week, Morrison scored 12 points in just 20 minutes of action at Texas Tech.
Overall, he averaged 19.3 points in 30 minutes per game, shot 64 percent from the field, 54 percent from three-point range, and blocked a shot in each of his team's three outings.
On the season so far, Morrison is averaging 18.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the field. The award was the first career honor for Morrison.
The Golden Eagles (4-4), take the court again in Norman Saturday at 2 p.m. again Oklahoma.
