OSU's Gilbert Named Special Teams Player of the Week

Gilbert had a big game in OSU's 47-41 Bedlam loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- OSU defensive back Justin Gilbert was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against OU on Saturday.

Gilbert returned six kicks in the game for 189 yards against the Sooners, including an 89-yard return for a touchdown with less than three minutes remaining in the game to bring the Cowboys to within two points of OU.

Gilbert, a freshman from Huntsville, Texas is the second OSU player to earn the Special Teams Player of the Week honor. Kicker Dan Bailey picked up the award on Oct. 11th.

In all, eight different OSU players have earned a Big 12 Player of the Week award this season.

The Cowboys finished the regular season 10-2 and are now awaiting a bowl bid.
