TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts men’s basketball team won its first game of the season Wednesday 86-60 over Arkansas-Little Rock.
Little Rock started the game with a 9-4 lead, but Oral Roberts (1-3) responded with a 13-0 run and it was all downhill from there.
ORU gradually pulled away throughout the rest of the game thanks to significantly better shooting from the field. The Golden Eagles finished shooting 57 percent, while UALR shot just 35 percent.
Niles Warren was unstoppable off the bench, scoring 25 points in only 27 minutes on the floor. Dominique Morrison scored 17 and pulled down 10 rebounds, and Steven Roundtree added 13 points.
Soloman Bozeman was the lone bright spot for Little Rock, finishing with 20 points and making all three of his 3-point attempts. None of Bozeman’s teammates had more than eight points or five rebounds.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak to start the season for the Golden Eagles, who will not play at the Maybee Center again for more than a month. They will travel to Salt Lake City to face Utah in their next game at 8 p.m. Saturday.
