OKLAHOMA CITY – Barry Switzer is one of the most recognizable names in Oklahoma football history, but very few people have gotten to know the true Switzer off the field.
Switzer has done extensive work with Whiz Kids, an organization geared toward helping inner-city youths get the tutoring and mentoring they need.
Switzer said Whiz Kids is a cause close to his heart, and he sat down in a special 1-on-1 interview to share his personal stories of growth and how he became a National Championship and Super Bowl winning coach.
Switzer will speak at the Whiz Kids’ 6th Annual “Seeds of Hope” Fundraiser Dinner on Nov. 30 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The keynote speaker will be Collins Tuohy, the adopted sister of Michael Ohr whose family was the inspiration for the film “The Blindside.”
