STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It was announced Tuesday that Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is one of seven coaches named on the watch list for the 2010 Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award.
Gundy is the only Big 12 coach on the list, after leading the Cowboys to a 7-1 record, including a 3-1 record in conference play after being picked to finish fifth in the Big 12 South in the preseason poll.
The OSU head man is joined on the list by Auburn’s Gene Chizik, Boise State’s Chris Peterson, Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio, Oregon’s Chip Kelly, Arizona’s Mike Stoops and Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz.
If Oklahoma State can win out this season, the Cowboys will make their first appearance in the Big 12 title game as the South’s representative.
