Tulsa Drillers Blast Midland in Series Opener
The Drillers' bats were hot Wednesday night and lifted Tulsa to a six-run win.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Two big innings propelled the Tulsa Drillers to a 10-4 win over the Midland RockHounds Wednesday.
The Drillers (57-63) scored their first three runs on consecutive at-bats in the bottom of the second inning.
With the bases loaded, Michael Mitchell hit a ground-rule double to right field to bring in Kiel Roling and Warren Schaeffer. In the next at-bat, Anthony Jackson grounded out allowing Matt Repec to score from third.
Midland (62-59) tied the game by playing small ball in the top of the third and the top of the fifth to tie the game 3-3, but Tulsa responded in the bottom of the sixth.
A one-out triple by Anthony Jackson and a two-out double by Jordan Pacheco gave the Drillers a two-run lead coming out of the sixth.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jason Van Kooten hit a leadoff home run to extend the lead to 6-3. Two outs later, Charles Blackmon hit a three-run double to left field to take a 7-3 lead.
Al Alburquerque (2-4) received a win after allowing just two hits in his two innings of service for the Drillers. The RockHounds got just one inning from Daniel Sattler (1-1) who allowed two earned runs on three hits.
The three-game series will continue at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at OneOK Field.
