Austin Box to Miss 3-6 Weeks

The junior recorded 37 tackles and one interception last season.

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- University of Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box will miss three-to-six weeks with an injury to a disc in his back.

The news comes a day after a coaching source told Oklahoma Sports Sports Director Dean Blevins that Box would be "day-to-day" with a back injury.

Box was expected to step in as one of the leaders of a talented corps of linebackers for OU. The high school star quarterback started four games in 2009. The junior accounted for 37 total tackles -- 7.5 for loss -- and one interception.
