Quinton Carter Named to Jim Thorpe Award Watch List

University of Oklahoma safety Quinton Carter has been named to the 2010 Jim Thorpe Award watch list.

Given annually to college football's top defensive back, the Jim Thorpe Award watch list features 35 players. Carter is the only player from an Oklahoma college nominated.

The list will be narrowed to about a dozen, then three finalists in November. The winner will be announced in December and will receive the award in Oklahoma City in February.

Carter, a preseason All-Big 12 selection, recorded 88 tackles and four interceptions last season.
