Tulsa Football Dismisses Wide Receiver A.J. Whitmore

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The University of Tulsa announced Friday that wide receiver A.J. Whitmore has been dismissed from school based on not meeting academic eligibility requirements.

The senior has not requested a transfer release from the school and can seek to regain his eligibility beginning in June 2011.

Whitmore played in 38 games in his three seasons for the Hurricane. He gained 681 rushing yards, 520 receiving yards and 131 passing yards. Whitmore scored 16 touchdowns in his career, including 11 rushing and five receiving, while also throwing for one TD.

Last season, Whitmore totaled 238 receiving yards, gained 67 yards rushing and threw for 85 yards.
