ORLANDO, Florida -- Wins and losses aren’t even the point. That said, Jeremy Pargo hit a dagger of a shot to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 86-85 in its second summer league matchup.
The rookie from Gonzaga rookie scored just seven points for the Charlotte Bobcats (1-1). Former Duke Blue Devil Gerald Henderson led the team with 21 points on 5-of-11 shooting.
Five Thunder (1-1) players scored in double figures, all of which are familiar names from last season. James Harden led the group with 19 points, going a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Eric Maynor (18 points), Kyle Weaver (14), D.J. White (14), and Byron Mullins (12) were the others to reach 10-plus points.
Rebounding was an issue for Oklahoma City, getting beaten 34-19 on the boards.
Serge Ibaka, who rolled his ankle in the team’s first game, did not play against the Bobcats.
