OKLAHOMA CITY -- Former Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kevin Ollie has accepted a position as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, according to numerous reports.
The 12-year NBA veteran played under Huskies head coach Jim Calhoun from 1992-96.
In a limited role with the Thunder last season, Ollie averaged 1.8 points and 0.8 assists per contest.
As a result of an NCAA investigation into the UConn program, assistant coach Pat Sellers and director of basketball operations Beau Archibald were forced to resign in May.
Ollie played for 12 NBA teams in his career and sat behind Russell Westbrook and Eric Maynor on the point guard depth chart.
