NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Sooners took to the field in preparation for the College World Series for the first time Wednesday. OU is making is first trip to Omaha in 15 years.
"We've had some great teams here at Oklahoma since '95," OU head coach Sunny Golloway said. "They have tried to pick the lock, to the door, they have tried to use a key. I said you suckers you just went and kick the door in."
The Sooners lost back-to-back games and were eliminated in 1995. The year before, Oklahoma won the national title.
Oklahoma makes its return visit to Omaha seeded eighth, its lowest seed ever. But momentum is on the Sooners side having won 14 of its last 16.
Golloway said Michale Roacha will start against South Carolina Sunday. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
