NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Before heading to Omaha for the College World Series, the Oklahoma Sooners were back in Norman and spoke to the media.
After scoring more than 10 runs in back-to-back wins against the Virginia Cavaliers, OU advanced to its first College World Series since 1995, when the Sooners lost two consecutive games to be eliminated.
The season before was a different story for Oklahoma. After winning its regional with four consecutive wins, the Sooners won a National Title by winning four straight games in Omaha.
The Sooners will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in their first-round matchup, yet another team with a high-powered offense. The Gamecocks have hit 90 home runs this season, which ranks in the top 20 in the nation, and average 7.4 runs per game.
Oklahoma and South Carolina will square off Sunday at 1 p.m.
