NORMAN, Oklahoma – Oklahoma sophomore Caleb Bushyhead is one of 25 quarterfinalists for the 2010 Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award.
Bushyhead ranks sixth on the team with a .328 batting average to go along with his four homers and 30 RBIs. He has hit safely in 19 of the last 20 games, including a career-high 10-game hitting streak.
The Mannford, Oklahoma native has also made an impact in the field, posting a .935 fielding percentage in his first full season starting in the Sooners’ lineup.
Carter Jurica from Kansas State and Brodie Greene from Texas A&M also represent the Big 12 on the quarterfinalist list.
The Wallace Award will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation on July 2 in Lubbock, Texas, as part of the College Baseball Awards Show.
