COLUMBIA, Missouri -- A Dean Green solo home run in the ninth gave the Cowboys a 4-3 win and the series win over the Missouri Tigers.
Both teams were quiet through the third inning, with only three players reaching scoring position. The Cowboys broke the scoring drought with a Kevin Chambers RBI single to left field.
Chambers earned a win for the outing despite only going 1.2 innings, facing eight batters and giving up one hit. Phil McCormick went 2.2 innings and only surrendered one hit, a solo home run, but took loss.
Missouri added a run of its own in the bottom of the fifth when Brett Nicholas hit into a double playthat scored Andrew Thigpen.
OSU took a 3-1 in the top of the sixth on two unearned runs by Mark Ginther and Chambers. The Tigers then tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on back-to-back at-bats. With one out, Aaron Senne brought home Ryan Gebhart with a sacrifice fly to left field. Blake Brown tied the game by scoring on an error by Davis Duren.
Green came to the plate to start the ninth inning and hit a home run to center field to give Oklahoma State the go-ahead run.
The Cowboys head home to Stillwater for a two-game home stand before heading to Austin for a three-game weekend series against Texas.
