CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Corpus Christi shout out Tulsa 4-0 Friday. The Drillers managed just five hits all game.
The Drillers blew a prime opportunity in the top of the ninth inning. Kiel Roling struck out on three straight pitches to end the game with runners on the corners.
Marcos Cabral hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the second to put the Hooks on top 2-0. Cabral would score the first of two runs in fifth inning to give Corpus Christi a 3-0 advantage. He finished 1-2, with 2 RBIs.
Cory Riordan (0-2) was tagged with the loss for the Drillers after allowing four earned runs in six innings. Douglas Arguello (2-0) earned the win for the Hooks throwing six scoreless innings.
The Drillers and Hooks will face-off in game two at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
