OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City RedHawks will open their season at the Bricktown Ballpark Thursday, and they have special promotions and giveaways planned for their first eight games of the season.
At the season opener against the Albuquerque Isotopes, more than $5,000 in cash giveaways will be provided by the Oklahoma Lottery. It will also be “Thirsty Thursday,” when fans can purchase Coors Light and Miller Lite for $1 through the fifth inning. Finally, the ballpark will host opening night fireworks after the game.
On Friday, the first 2,000 fans will be given a RedHawks Snuggie and the game will again be followed by a fireworks display.
On Saturday, the first 3,500 fans will receive a RedHawks magnetic schedule. The national anthem will be sung by American Idol contestant Thaddeus Johnson, and Uwe Von Schamann will sign autographs on the concourse.
In the series finale against the Isotopes, the RedHawks will host the first “Sunday Funday” of the season. Kids ages 12 and under eat free, while inflatables and other kid-friendly activities will be available. After the game, children will be allowed the run the bases and play catch in the outfield with Rowdy.
The RedHawks will begin their series against Round Rock Express Monday, and fans who bring a Pepsi product to the gate will receive two-for-one admission. The team will recognize the same deal Tuesday, and fans will also get two-for-one admission for bringing a KRAFT singles wrapper.
Wednesday will mark the first Wendy’s $1 Wednesday, which will allow fans to purchase a general admission ticket for $1 if they present a Wendy’s receipt at the gate.
The RedHawks will close their string of eight games in eight days with another “Thirsty Thursday” in the final game of their series against the Express.
