OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week after leading the Thunder to a 4-0 record during the week.
Included in those four wins was a win in Dallas over the Mavericks- the franchise’s first win in Dallas since 2004- to clinch the Thunder’s first playoff berth since moving from Seattle. Durant also broke the franchise record for points in a season with 2,258, set by Dale Ellis in the 1989-90 season.
During those four contests Durant averaged 31.5 points, eight rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.
This is the third NBA Player of the Week honor for the third-year forward out of Texas.
Oklahoma City is back in action at 8 p.m. Tuesday against the Jazz and could improve its playoff seeding with a win.
