LUFKIN, Texas -- One day after former Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford provided a dazzling workout, former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant provided the opposite end of the spectrum.
Bryant ran 40-yard dash times of 4.52, 4.68 and 4.52, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com. According to NFL sources, Bryant forgot his cleats to run the 40-yard dash with and was forced to run in a new pair of shoes that weren't properly broken in. Because of this Bryant was slipping during the workouts, which presumably cost him time during the drills.
He also dropped some passes during position drills with former OSU quarterback Bobby Reid.
The wide receiver, expected by many to be a first round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, had previously been credited with more positive 40-yard dash times.
Bryant also recorded a 38-inch vertical leap and an 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump.
Many who made the trip to Oklahoma to see Bradford were in attendance to see Bryant, including Brandt and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Several other NFL coaches and team personnel were in attendance to watch the workout.
