STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Four Oklahoma State Cowboys pitchers combined to shut out Alabama A&M, 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Reynolds Stadium.
Leadoff hitter Davis Duren aided the pitchers’ efforts with two hits and two RBI as Oklahoma State (14-3) knocked in all four runs during the bottom of the fourth inning.
Ian McCarthy, Matt Klein and Matt Peck kept Alabama A&M (11-11) scoreless to give Mike Strong (3-0) the win after a seven-inning effort.
His opposition, starter Chris Hernandez, struggled with control, walking seven batters in six innings pitched. His disastrous fourth inning saddled him with the loss, dropping him to 2-2 on the season.
This weekend, Oklahoma State travels to Kansas State for its first Big 12 Conference competition of the season. The first of the three-game set starts on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
